With the 2014 season fast approaching, one potential riser to keep an eye out for throughout the fall is U-Dub edge defender Hau’oli Kikaha. With a background in judo, this pass rusher uses technique and upper body strength to beat his opponents.
After back-to-back years with season-ending knee injuries, he produced at a very high level in 2013, notching 13 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss.
In 2014, he’s playing to prove his durability and to rewrite the Husky record book. If Kikaha is able to stay healthy, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if he jumps up into the first round of the 2015 draft.
