Under the guidance of head coach Hugh Freeze, Ole Miss has transformed into a formidable program in the SEC. To his credit, Freeze was largely responsible for locking up defensive end stud Robert Nkemdiche on signing day in 2013. However, he also had the major benefit of inheriting another standout defensive end in C.J. Johnson.
Johnson stood out when I studied Ole Miss prospects last summer. He garnered some attention from the draft community at the time, but a season-ending ankle injury in October quieted the buzz.
If Johnson can stay healthy and perform at a consistently high level, he has an opportunity to become a surprise first rounder in 2015.
