The 2018 NFL Draft looks, on paper, like it will be a great year for team’s searching for a franchise quarterback. For all the criticism that the 2017 class received, next year’s crop of passers is already shaping the narrative of the first 10 picks.
CBS Sports’ Dane Brugler published his first 2018 NFL mock draft of the year — yes, only a few days after the conclusion of the 2017 draft — and it featured four early-round passers.
USC’s Sam Darnold is the first off the board to the Cleveland Browns, followed by Josh Rosen to the New York Jets at No. 3. The Buffalo Bills secure the electrifying Lamar Jackson at No. 6, while the Washington Redskins nab the most naturally gifted of the group, Wyoming’s Josh Allen, at No. 10.
Brugler has Penn State’s Saquon Barkley as the second pick to the San Francisco 49ers, proving for potentially the third consecutive draft that running back has made a comeback in terms of NFL Draft value.
