2018 NFL Draft: Preseason QB rankings

A look at the top quarterbacks available for the 2018 NFL Draft on the eve of the college football season

The 2017 college football season kicks off in just over two months, with NFL Draft season soon to follow. Draft analysts are already knee-deep in player evaluations.

Preseason player rankings are underway and, obviously, will change between now and April. But the process of tiering players before the college season begins is a good one, if for no other reason than to start organizing your thoughts.

I’ve started my summer scouting with a surface level review of the likely 2018 quarterback class. Sidenote: If you’re looking for passing charts or algebraic statistical analysis, this set of rankings isn’t for you. My draft work is more old-school. I’m not saying my system is any better — or worse — than the en vogue scouting methodology. It’s simply mine. I trust it.

Here’s my look at the top 10 quarterbacks heading into the 2018 college football season, featuring five players who look the part of first-round picks.
