Demaryius Thomas declares for NFL Draft

Written by Will Spencer

Demaryius Thomas

WR – Georgia Tech Junior 6’3″ 220 lbs

Yellow Jackets wide receiver Demaryius Thomas made if official today, declaring for the NFL Draft. Many feel that Thomas was a highly talented wide receiver that was under utilized in a “run-first” offense. Thomas certainly has the size/speed ratio that could make him a huge threat for any NFL team and will more than likely increase his value once he tests at the Scouting Combine. Thomas looks like a solid 2nd round selection at this point but we wouldn’t be surprised if after testing, he some how slid into the bottom of round 1.

Joe McKnight declares for NFL Draft

Written by Will Spencer

Joe McKnight

RB – USC Junior 6’0″ 190 lbs

Add another USC underclassmen to the list. Running back Joe McKnight announced today that he won’t return for his senior season and will enter the 2010 NFL Draft. McKnight was one of a full stable of talented running backs. When asked about leaving early, McKnight made comments about the pressure to “be Reggie Bush” and that he didn’t want to risk injury. McKnight is a very talented back but will probably be taken in the mid-2nd round area, depending on how he tests. He certainly has the physical tools and talent to be a solid contributor to an NFL team. McKnight’s status will also depend on the status of Georgia Tech RB Jonathan Dywer, who still has yet to make a decision on whether or not he’ll enter the draft.

Jevan Snead to enter NFL Draft

Written by Will Spencer

Jevan Snead

QB – Ole Miss Junior 6’3″ 220 lbs

Reports are indicating that Ole Miss QB Jevan Snead will pass up his senior season to enter the 2010 NFL Draft. All we have to say is, why? Snead came into the 2009 college football season a hot name after a tremendous sophomore season, but his junior year has been, to be nice, less than stellar. Snead struggled in most games this year and with two big name junior QBs already declaring for the draft (Bradford and Clausen), most thought that Snead would stay for his senior season. Snead has an awful lot to prove if he wants to climb draft boards over the next few months. I’d rate him as a 3rd round draft pick as of right now. I am, however, curious as to what rating the NFL Draft Advisory Board gave Snead to influence his decision. Keep Reading…
