Matt Barkley
QB – USC Freshman
The Davey O’Brien award has named USC’s Matt Barkley this week’s quarterback of the week. The freshman signal caller led the Trojans to a tough win over Notre Dame, 34-27. Barkley was impressive in the win, going 19 of 29 for 380 yards and two touchdowns. Other quarterbacks receiving votes this week included: Joey Elliott – Purdue (RS-SR), Nick Foles – Arizona (RS-SO), Max Hall – BYU (SR), Tyler Hansen – Colorado (SO), Jacory Harris – Miami (SO), Case Keenum – Houston (RS-JR), Andrew Luck – Stanford (FR), Josh Nesbitt – Georgia Tech (JR), Ricky Stanzi – Iowa (JR) and Tim Tebow – Florida (SR). Our friends at Draft Zoo always provide great commentary on the college football season. Check out their 5 lessons from week 6. 1. Ndamukong Suh is the scariest player in college. Some may argue that Tim Tebow is the best double threat QB in college and that he is the scariest. Eric Berry is a ball hawking safety and nobody will take that away from him, but Ndamukong Suh is the scariest. Suh is not only the best DT in college football, he might be on his way to become one of the best (if not the best) prospects in the 2010 NFL Draft. Suh has the size, speed, strength and motor to play either DT in an NFL 4-3, and he even has the skill set to play DE in a 3-4 defense. Pat Devlin QB – Delaware RS Junior 6’4″ 220 lbs
Redshirt Junior QB Pat Devlin had a great game against Masschusetts this week. The Penn State transfer is hoping to follow in the foot steps of Joe Flacco after his transfer from Pittsburgh. Devlin led the Blue Hens to a victory by going 19/26 for 284 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT.

Tariq Ali LB – Western Alabama RS Senior 6’2″ 205 lbs

The final scores are in the books and Draft Breakdown is here to update you on how some of the top rookies in the 2009 draft performed in week 5 of the NFL season. Everette Brown – DE – Panthers The former Florida State pass rusher reached a milestone this week against the Redskins. Brown recorded his first career sack this week and also added a forced fumble and 2 tackles in the win. Mike Wallace – WR – Steelers Wallace is starting to become a favorite target for Roethlisberger. Wallace scored again this week, ending the game with 2 catches for 52 yards and 1 touchdown, his first of the season. Hakeem Nicks – WR – Giants Nicks had another strong game this week and seems to be close to 100% after his injury. Ndamukong Suh
DT – Nebraska Senior
Ndamukong Suh has received the FWAA/Bronko Nagurski Defensive Player of the week award. Suh proved why he’s our top ranked senior prospect this week against Missouri. The massive defensive tackle showed his power and athleticism, racking up 6 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, 1 pass break-up and 3 quarterback hurries in the road victory. The Bronko Nagurski Trophy will be presented to the best defensive player in college football on Dec. 7. Last season, Texas DE Brian Orakpo was the recipient of the end of season award.
