DeMarco Murray is a Cowboy no more. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the 2014 Offensive Player of the Year has officially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles after visiting on Thursday morning.
DB’s Take: The Cowboys saw a glimpse of hope earlier this week when the Eagles announced the addition of RB Ryan Matthews from San Diego. Apparently Philadelphia wanted more. With a confusing quarterback situation paired with the losses of WR Jeremy Maclin and RB LeSean McCoy, the Eagles need as many playmakers as they can get. Matthews was signed today as well and will split carries with Murray in the backfield. Dallas has begun calling free agent running backs. CJ Spiller, Stevan Ridley, and Reggie are among the top available backs in the free agency, but don’t be surprised if Cowboys’ GM Jerry Jones goes after Georgia RB Todd Gurley with the 27th pick in the draft.
