The college football and professional football seasons are in full swing. What a better way to celebrate than with a new mock draft? While there were certainly some surprising wins and losses during the week one games, the season is still young. Aaron Aloysius takes you through the second installment of our “Way too early” mock draft series.
1. Buffalo Bills Andrew Luck – QB – Stanford*
If the Bills are picking #1 overall, the Captain Checkdown project will have reached a calamitous end. The team may flirt with drafting an elite receiver (AJ Green) or pass rusher (Robert Quinn), but — like in the last two drafts — the first pick ultimately will be used on a franchise QB. The two most likely candidates are Jake Locker and Andrew Luck. While Locker more closely resembles the type of athletic QB Chan Gailey prefers, questions about Keep Reading…

Feeling a little bit empty inside now that the draft is over with? Sure…training camp hasn’t even started but what else are you gonna do? Aaron Aloysius takes you through the first of our “way too early” mock drafts. **Disclaimer** Though two of the writers of Draft Breakdown are from Baltimore, please note that this was written by Aaron, who is from the Cleveland area. We don’t want to come across as being biased
1. Buffalo Bills Jake Locker – QB – Washington
Chan Gailey had some success with Tyler Thigpen and reportedly coveted Tim Tebow. In Jake Locker, Gailey gets a more polished, NFL-ready version of those two QBs. Locker showed tremendous progress last year, closing out the season with an impressive performance against Cal. He’ll likely have to fend off rising redshirt Sophomore Andrew Luck for the top QB spot in next year’s draft, but his Keep Reading…

It’s only a day before the draft and Will Spencer and Rob Engle have put their heads together to come up with their final mock draft. With a few surprises in store, take a look at how it shaped up!
1. St. Louis Rams Sam Bradford – QB – Oklahoma
Scouting Report
It seems that it’s almost a given the Rams will take Bradford with the first overall pick. We don’t necessarily agree with it, but we see the Rams issue here. They’ve passed on several franchise quarterbacks over the past several seasons and they’ve parted ways with Marc Bulger. They could go out and try to trade for Jason Campbell or maybe shoot for Colt McCoy in round 2. However, this seems like the most logical selection.
2. Detroit Lions Ndamunkong Suh – DT – Nebraska
Scouting Report
The Lions could easily have one Keep Reading…

Special guest writer Brandon Clark gives you his first round mock. Brandon gives you what he thinks will happen, and then gives the pick HE would make. Enjoy!
1. St. Louis Rams Sam Bradford – QB – Oklahoma
Scouting Report
When drafting first overall, it is more pertinent than ever to choose the Best Player Available. The problem is that the league has become such a QB-driven environment that positional value trumps talent in this particular instance. Suh will drop and the defensive-minded coach will fix that side on his own and let the offense benefit from talent.
My Take: Unfortunately, I can’t logically disagree.

Scouting Report
LT to protect the QB or a DT to cause problems for the other team and keep the score low? What would you do? What will they do? Keep Reading…

The Redskins made a huge move to get Donovan McNabb, Jimmy Clausen has his pro day and Santonio Holmes is traded to the Jets. See how Will Spencer thinks this will affect the draft in his latest mock.
1. St. Louis Rams Sam Bradford – QB – Oklahoma
Now that the option of trading for McNabb is off the table (if it was ever ON the table), the Rams have to look to the quarterback position. It’s my belief that the Rams should go with the best player in the draft here (Ndamukong Suh) and take Colt McCoy in round 2. However, this mock isn’t what I think SHOULD happen, it’s what I think is LIKELY to happen. St. Louis can’t afford to come out of this draft without a quarterback so why not get the best one? Last year, the Rams grabbed their franchise left tackle, so Keep Reading…
