Every week, Draft Breakdown will bring you three standout players from “small” schools. We’ll cover a player from Division 1-AA, Division II and Division III. Here are this weeks spotlight players.
Division I-AA

QB – Appalachian State Senior 6’1″ 184 lbs |
Appalachian State QB Armanti Edwards was all over the field this week against Georgia Southern. Edwards accounted for almost 400 yards of total offense as he was a passing and rushing threat. The senior finished the game going 26 of 34 for 320 yards, 3 TDs and zero interceptions, and ran the ball 6 times for 61 yards in the victory.
Division II

Senior defensive back Quintez Smith continues to have an impressive season as he dominates opposing offenses. Smith grabbed an interception against Livingstone, but it just happens to be his ninth of the season. Smith has shown he’s a threat to score whenever the ball is in his hands as he’s scored on four interception returns and 2 fumble recoveries so far this season.
Division III

Division I-AA

QB – Monmouth Sophomore 6’3″ 230 lbs |
Monmouth QB Kyle Frazier had a huge week for the Hawks, leading them to a 42-20 victory over Sacred Heart. Frazier threw the ball all over the field, going 18 of 24 for 322 yards, 4 touchdowns and no interceptions.
Division II

S – North Alabama Senior 5’11″ 206 lbs |
Senior safety Quinton Andrews was an absolute defensive force this week against Delta State. The former West Virginia University defensive back recorded 18 total tackles, forced 2 fumbles, recovered a fumble and had a key 40 yard interception returned for a touchdown in the 34-24 victory.
Division III

WR – Dubuque Junior 6’1″ 190 lbs |
Junior wide receiver Michael Zweifel had a career day this week against Simpson College as he couldn’t be stopped by the defense. Zweifel reeled in 20 catches for an amazing 330 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 36-33 victory.

QB – Delaware RS Junior 6’4″ 220 lbs |
Redshirt Junior QB Pat Devlin had a great game against Masschusetts this week. The Penn State transfer is hoping to follow in the foot steps of Joe Flacco after his transfer from Pittsburgh. Devlin led the Blue Hens to a victory by going 19/26 for 284 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT.
Division II

LB – Western Alabama RS Senior 6’2″ 205 lbs |
Senior linebacker Tariq Ali was a defensive force against Delta State this week. Ali, who was forced to redshirt in 2008, was named All-Golf South Conference as a true Junior in 2007. This week, Ali led the defense with 10 tackles, 2 INTs and a recovered fumble in the 34-14 victory.

Division I-AA

QB – Mississippi Valley State Senior 6’2″ 196 lbs |
Senior quarterback Paul Roberts had an amazing game for the MVSU Delta Devils this week. In a 61-6 beat-down of Texas College, Roberts led the offense with 5 touchdowns. The QB finished the game 24 of 35 for 329 yards, 5 TDs and 1 INT, adding 4 rushes for 32 yards in the victory
Division II

RB – Wayne State RS Senior 6’0″ 223 lbs |
Senior running back Joique Bell helped lead Wayne State on a come from behind victory this week over Ashland. Trailing 33-20 at halftime, Bell came out in the 2nd half on fire. Joique finished the game with 32 carries for a beefy 272 yards and 5 rushing touchdowns, and even added a receiving touchdown into the mix.
This win wasn’t the only accomplishment for Bell as he passed Walter Payton and Ricky Williams on the all-time NCAA scoring list with 480 total points for his career at this point. Bell is now 15th on the list.

Taiwan Jones RB – Eastern Washington RS-Sophomore 6’1″ 200 lbs |
Sophomore running back Taiwan Jones led the charge for the Eastern Washington Eagles this week against Sacramento State. Jones ran all over Sacramento’s defense, carrying the ball 15 times for 190 yards and 4 touchdowns. Jones also added 1 catch for 20 yards in the 56-30 win.
Jones originally played cornerback for the Eagles, but made the transition to running back during the spring practices.
Division II

DeRante Hunter QB – Charleston Junior 5’9″ 175 lbs |
Junior quarterback DeRante Hunter dominated this week against Shepherd University. Hunter showed his versatility and athleticism, rushing the ball 24 times for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns, while going 10 of 15 for 211 passing yards and 1 touchdown. The Golden Eagles breezed past Shepherd 30-17.

Division I-AA

Cade Cooper QB – Southern Utah Senior 6’0″ 200 lbs |
Senior Cade Cooper completed 33 of 48 passes for a Great West Conference season-high 425 yards and four touchdowns without throwing an interception. The 6’0 200 pound quarterback rallied the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah from a 35-17 deficit at the end of three quarters. Cooper tossed a pair of fourth quarter touchdown passes to Austin Minefee to pull to within 3 points before time ran out. The Thunderbirds couldn’t hold on though, falling to the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks 42-39. For the effort Cooper was named the GWC Offensive Player Of The Week.
Cade originally played at Snow College where he became the NJCAA player of the year in 2006. Cooper then moved on to BYU where he suffered a knee injury in the spring of 2007. He transferred to Oregon for fall 2007, but found that the Ducks were already solid at the QB position, which led to his transfer to SUU.

Division I-AA

Pat Grace QB – Northern Iowa Senior 6’2″ 240 lbs |
Quarterback Pat Grace of the Northern Iowa Panthers dominated in a victory over South Dakota. The 6’2 240 pound senior Pro prospect only aided his standing by accounting for seven touchdowns in a 455 yard performance despite only playing three plays into the second half. Grace tossed four scores and added three more with his feet, runs of 1, 11, and 3 yards while leading the Panthers to a 52-7 over South Dakota.
Division II

Tobias Robinson RB – Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) Junior 5’11″ 205 lbs |
Junior running back Tobias Robinson guided the Crimson Hawks of IUP to a 17-3 victory over Millersville. Robinson was off and running to the PSAC West Offensive Player of the week after a turning in a 20 carry 169 yard performance which included an 83 yard touchdown run in the second quarter. This was Robinson’s second straight 100 yard game and raised his season average to 125.0 yards per game. In the past two seasons Robinson has stacked up 8 games of 100 yards rushing or more with five scores of 77 yards or longer.
