Defensive Player of the Week: Nathan Triplett

Inside Linebacker Nate Triplett has been a force in the middle of the field for the Golden Gophers. During this week’s game vs. Air Force, Triplett recorded 17 tackles and took a fumble recovery 52 yards for a touchdown, giving Minnesota the lead in the 4th quarter. Of Triplett’s 17 tackles, 12 were solo. This performance made Triplett the Bronko Nagurski Defensive Player of the week.


The Bronko Nagurski Trophy will be presented to the best defensive player in college football on Dec. 7. Last season, Texas DE Brian Orakpo was the recipient of the end of season award.
