Redshirt sophomore safety Robert Lester of Alabama is this week’s Bronko Nagurski Defensive Player of the Week. Lester was instrumental in Alabama’s come from behind road win against SEC rival, Arkansas. Lester racked up seven tackles and two interceptions in the victory. His second interception was returned to the Arkansas 12 yard line, leading to the game winning touchdown for Alabama.
The Bronko Nagurski Trophy will be presented to the best defensive player in college football on Dec. 6. Last year, Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh was the recipient of the end of season award.
