Eric Berry declares for NFL Draft

According to ESPN.com, junior phenom Eric Berry is passing up on his senior season to enter the NFL Draft. Berry is rated by most as a top 3 overall prospect and by far the best defensive back in the country. His versatility and combination of size and speed make him a force to be reckoned with for every offense. What I like most about Berry is not just his ability to cover a huge amount of ground, but his willingness to tackle and make the big hit. It’s not every day that a play maker of Berry’s level enters the NFL Draft. Comparisons to Ed Reed aren’t far off. He’ll clearly be a stud at the next level.

  1. For the Lions, I’d say McCoy without a doubt. Detroit drafted Louis Delmas last year, who I’m a big fan of. While having two play making safeties would be huge for any defense, Detroit needs help up front….big time. McCoy isn’t that far off in talent from Suh and would be a tremendous pickup for the Lions. Immediate impact player and the defense will be better right away.
