On the surface, Jake Fisher doesn’t seem like a prospect that should be receiving an immense amount of praise coming into the 2014 season. While he’s only received one honorable mention All-Pac 12 tackle nod at this point in his career, Fisher is a talented tackle who’ll only grow in esteem among draftniks. The projected third-year starter was ranked the 11th best player on Oregon’s roster by 247 Sports, as well as the ninth-ranked senior tackle prospect by NFL Draft Scout. Those projections, in my view, are selling Oregon’s right tackle short.

A high school tight end, Jake Fisher’s upside as an athletic, mauling lineman could warrant an Eric Fisher-like rise in his senior season. With top-tier athleticism, consistency will be the key to propel the offensive lineman, who purportedly runs a 40 in the 5.0 range, up teams’ draft boards.
