New Two-Round Mock by Jon Dove

Written by Jon Dove

The 2013 NFL Draft is just around the corner, and that means you can expect to see a large number of mock drafts. Don’t overlook the mocks that come out this early, because they’re typically based more on the writers’ takes on the prospects.

As we get closer to the draft, rumors about which players teams are targeting really start to influence the world of mocks.

1. Kansas City - Luke Joeckel – OT – Texas A&M

Andy Reid knows how much a shaky offensive line can impact an offense.

2. Jacksonville - Jarvis Jones – OLB – Georgia

The Jags need someone who can generate pressure on the quarterback.

Oakland just needs a young stud to build around.

4. Philadelphia - Taylor Lewan – OT – Michigan

Philly needs a young anchor on the offensive line.

5. Detroit - Dion Jordan – DE – Oregon

Cliff Avril’s status is up in the air; Jordan would be great replacement.

6. Cleveland - Damontre Moore – DE – Texas A&M

Moore’s pass-rush ability could help take the Browns’ defense to the next level.

7. Arizona - Geno Smith – QB – West Virginia

Geno might not last this long, but if he does the Cardinals will be thrilled.

8. Buffalo - Bjoern Werner – DE – Florida State

Buffalo wants a QB, but Werner represents better value. Don’t fool yourself, Mark Anderson isn’t a consistent pass-rusher.

9. New York Jets - Manti Te’o – LB – Notre Dame

The Jets need leadership, among many other things. Te’o would be a leader on and off the field.

10. Tennessee - Chance Warmack – OG – Alabama

Titans

The Titans need a solid running game for Jake Locker to succeed, so getting the most dominant interior lineman is a good start.

11. San Diego - Dee Milliner – CB – Alabama

San Diego is hurt the most by Jake Matthews’ decision to return to school. Milliner represents a long-term replacement for Quentin Jammer.

12. Miami - Barkevious Mingo – DE – LSU

It’s time to move Jared Odrick to the three-technique and find a pass-rusher to help Cameron Wake.

13. Tampa Bay - Johnthan Banks – CB – Mississippi State

Eric Wright was never worth the contract he received last season. Banks represents an instant upgrade.

14. Carolina - Sylvester Williams – DT – North Carolina

Williams might be the most disruptive interior defender in this draft. Look for him to move up the boards throughout the process.

15. New Orleans - Ezekiel Ansah – DE – BYU

Will Smith just isn’t cutting it anymore. Adding a young talent like Ansah will allow the team to cut ties.

Later, Bleacher Report approached him to join their NFL coverage team. He remains a part of the team at BR, but has decided to help out here at Draft Breakdown.

  1. I agree the Seahawks need to draft at WR. But their primary weapons are fine. Tate , Rice and Baldwin are great. But after that there’s nothing. I would be looking at WR depth a second TE and interior pass-rush. Not in any particular order. GO SEAHAWKS!!!

  3. I like the mock with all the videos and appreciate all the different opinions.

I am not sure if you trying to predict the picks or writing your opinion of what teams should do.

If you are trying to predict picks, John Fox and Jack Del Rio of the Broncos love big DTs. Sutton at 270 is not their ideal guy. It’s true they drafted Wolfe last year around 270 but that was to play DE.

  4. NO-Way Pats take a WR first, they will most likely trade back into the 2nd round. But with this Mock Pats will take,..DT Jesse William, then in the 2nd D.J.Swearinger. Pats like WR Conner Vernon in the 3d.

  5. This is the worse Lion’s mock I have seen.

Mingo is too thin and will be a project and there is no way they pass on Elam and Cyprien for that joker you slotted for them in the second.

    #1 – Milliner
    #2 – Elam/Cyprien
    #3 – Will Gholston/Devin Taylor

    Defense fixed.,

  6. No way bengals pass up Cordarrelle Patterson – WR – Tennessee in the first round.. I dont think he will get out of the top ten but he does fall bengals will pick him. Cordarrelle Patterson with Aj Green hell i might even be able to be the quraterback!!! Who Dey
