Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon not invited to 2017 Scouting Combine
One of the top running back prospects in the 2017 NFL draft, Oklahoma’s Joe Mixon, is feeling the repercussions of his 2014 arrest when he was caught on camera punching a female student in the face. The victim suffered four fractured facial bones.
As a result, Mixon will not be invited to attend this year’s scouting combine.
NFL teams received final combine invite list. Among those not invited: Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon and Baylor WR Ishmael Zamora, per sources.

The NFL implemented a rule last year that allowed for players with violent histories to be barred from participating in the event.
Some saying Mixon & Zamora combine non-vites don't fit the new NFL rule, but here's what NFL dot com posted on that last year pic.twitter.com/yktpOcUZ8X

Mixon’s draft value is all over the board. Based on talent alone, he should be one of the first running backs selected. However, the violent nature of the videotape brings back memories of Ray Rice who never played another down in the NFL after his act of domestic violence was captured for the world to see.
This feels like the first step toward a draft-day fall for Mixon and a likely place in the pool of undrafted free agents immediately following day three.
