The Breakdown

Clayborn is set to have a tremendous senior season. Excellent against both the run and the pass, Clayborn has it all. He isn’t a speed rusher but knows how to use his hands and has a pretty wide array of pass rush moves. He’s versatile enough to play 4-3 defensive end in the NFL but could possibly play the 5-technique as well.

Saw minor game experience during 2007 season and began starting during 2008 season, in which he started 11 games. Started every game in the 2009 season.


Awards and Honors

2009: First team All-Big 10 by coaches and media.



Interdepartmental studies major at Iowa.



Missed one half vs. Indiana in 2008 with unknown injury.


Athletic Experience

Also played power forward for his high school basketball team, lettering four times. Played linebacker and tight end in high school.

Pled guilty to disorderly conduct in March of 2010. Was initially arrested for punching a cab driver in 2009.
