AJ Jenkins
|
Scouting Report written by: Andrew Parsons
Summary
Jenkins is a WR who is natural at getting open. He can make just about every catch and can make things happen with the ball in his hands. It looks like he can play outside, although he probably projects better in the slot due to his frame. His success in the NFL will be dependent on how he deals with the press.
Strengths
Jenkins is a very intelligent WR that can play outside as a number 2, or inside as a slot receiver. He accelerates through his routes well. He knows how to get open and find holes in zone coverage. Jenkins catches away from his body, exhibiting a plus catching radius, and shows solid body control. He can also elude and run away from defenders to create yards after the catch.
Weaknesses
Jenkins has a very thin frame. He is also not a very physical player. Very rarely was he asked to beat the press and it’s something he will struggle with in the NFL. Jenkins also has some issues with rounding out his routes or telegraphing them. Before his Senior season he had some issues with drops.
