Brandon Washington
|
Scouting Report written by: Andrew Parsons
Summary
Washington is a gifted athlete with a lot of untapped potential. His growth in technical aspects of the game seems to have been stunted by Miami moving him around. Projects as a guard in the NFL.
Strengths
Washington is highly athletic and possesses natural strength and quickness. He has good footwork when setting up in pass protection and frequently rides his defender past the pocket. Washington has also shown the ability to extend his arms, sinks his hips, and maintain anchor strength when dealing with the bull rush or blitzers. Washington has great range and takes good angles. He also seems to take pride in finishing off blocks.
Weaknesses
Washington struggles with his initial punch. His footwork is also inconsistent which leads to him doubling over and giving up leverage. There isn’t much of a technical aspect to his game as he seems to rely on his athletic ability more than anything else. He also will occasionally pop straight up in the run game.
