Chandler Jones
|
Summary
Chandler Jones has great size, length, and natural power. He’s not someone that is likely to be an elite pass rusher unless he dramatically improves his pad level, but he could be a solid complementary pass rusher who is a very good run defender, ala Ray Edwards in Minnesota.
Strengths
Jones has great size with long arms, and the frame to add weight. He showcases violent hands and shows the ability to consistently get his hands inside of the offensive lineman on first contact. Jones uses his length and natural power to engage and then slip off of the offensive lineman. For his size, Jones has impressive range and has an active motor. Jones also possesses a natural awareness and feel for the game.
Weaknesses
Jones displays only an average initial burst. Often plays far too high, and loses leverage because of it. Due to this, Jones is inconsistent in being able to anchor. In attempting to run the arc, Jones appears to be tight and lacks ideal balance.
