Poe is one of the few defensive tackles that has the quickness of a traditional one-gap player, but the size/strength combination of a two-gap. His size screams that he should play nose tackle in the NFL but it’s hard to ignore his first step and overall burst. However, Poe is a raw player with limited production at lower-level competition. It’s boom or bust but it’s hard to not take a risk on a physical specimen like Poe.
Excellent first step and can explode off the ball. Appears light on his feet and can flow down the line, keeping blockers at bay with his long arms. Possesses ideal size, bulk and strength for the position. Flashes a strong punch and can jar the offensive lineman off the snap. Knows how to tie up multiple blockers. Can anchor and clog the running lanes.
Raw player that needs development and refinement. Limited pass rush moves and relies on speed to get by blockers. Has trouble getting off blocks when he loses leverage. Too often stands up and loses leverage. Inconsistent. Limited production against lower level competition.
