Mitchell Schwartz
|
Scouting Report written by: Andrew Parsons
Summary
Schwartz may be better suited to play either guard or right tackle in the NFL where he won’t have to handle as much speed. However, his abilities suggests he’s someone who can be a starter in the league.
Strengths
Schwartz has an impressive frame and carries his weight well. He is consistently able to get off the ball well and deliver a strong initial blow to the defender. Schwartz has a killer instinct and works to the whistle to finish his blocks. He has good range off the edge and an above average ability to mirror pass rushers. He is able to get to the 2nd level and looks coordinated on the move.
Weaknesses
Schwartz struggles with keeping his base low and has spotty footwork when dealing with the pass rush. Schwartz also doubles over frequently, and loses leverage because of this.
