Will Spencer: Don’t get it twisted…William Gholston is not his cousin, Vernon. This Gholston might be the one prospect that I’m most excited to watch develop this season. Gholston has the nickname “Too Tall” and it’s for good reason. Listed at 6’7″ by Michigan State, he has the absolute ideal height and length for a traditional 4-3 defensive end with solid upper body strength to boot. Gholston does a solid job of locking his arms out and keeping blockers off his body, which puts him in perfect position to anchor and set the edge against the run. But it’s not just the overwhelming size and strength that Gholston has going for him, he also flashes some quick pass rush moves and has an excellent motor. Given that he’s only going into his junior season, Gholston still has room for improvement and I’m very excited to watch his continued development through the 2012 season.
Measurables coming soon!
