Andre Hal vs Ole Miss — Scouting Notes
 
– Breaks up a pass in the end zone as the quarterback targets the slot receiver on a hook-and-go route.  

– Forces Ole Miss to settle for a field goal, closing aggressively to force the receiver out of bounds after a short gain on a crossing route.  

– Does not appear ready for the snap, reacts late but gets away with a defensive hold on overthrown pass to Donte Moncrief.  

– Gets turned around in zone coverage and allows the halfback to release into the flats, resulting in a completion and a conversion on third down.  

– Blows up wide receiver screen at the line of scrimmage before the blockers can set up, laying a big hit on Moncrief.

– Keeps blocker out of his frame with extended arms, sheds and forces the halfback out of bounds on a sweep.

– Reacts to quarterback keeper after blitzing from the outside, making the tackle on the play.  

– Doing an excellent job of fighting off blocks and making tackles against the short passing game.

– Called for defensive pass interference on what appeared to be a clean pass breakup and very good coverage on a deep post to Moncrief.  

– In one-on-one coverage, times his jump and breaks up what would have been a touchdown pass to Moncrief.

– Reacts quickly on a quick pass to Moncrief, holding him to a minimal gain.  

– Bites on the play fake, allowing Moncrief to get behind him, but is bailed out as the receiver is unable to stay in bounds on the sideline throw.      

– Comes off his man to bring down the tight end after a first down pickup.

– Struggling to disengage from more aggressive and physical Ole Miss blockers in the second half.
