Strengths
Perfect size and length for a 5 technique (3-4 end) but is versatile enough to play the 3 tech (4-3 tackle). Very quick and agile. Powerful when he wants to be and plays with good technique. Very good pass rusher with a variety of pass rush moves including a great swim move. Anchors well and can slide down with blocks on plays outside the tackles. Has a lot of potential. Solid against the run and gets off blocks well.
Weaknesses
Has never been able to stay healthy for an entire season. Plays high at times which gets him pushed back more often than he should. Run stopping is based only on his quickness to get off blocks and he doesn’t get good leverage to push people back.
Analysis
If he was able to stay healthy, he’d probably be a high second round pick but because this DT class is so deep he might slide down into the fourth round, He’s been forgotten by a lot of draftniks and by the media since he ended his senior season with a knee injury forcing him to miss the last 3 games. Could potentially be a steal in the mid rounds.
