Explanation of Player Grading System

Strengths

Explosive athlete with great speed. Very quick and has some shiftiness. Not afraid to work the middle of the field. Can make some acrobatic catches. Does a nice job after the catch and can break some tackles against corners. Great leaping ability. Willing to fight for the ball with the defender. Super-athletic guy that has breakaway speed. Good downfield blocker. Ideal height/weight. Good body control and balance. High character player. Also a track star at South Florida.

Weaknesses

Makes an awful lot of body catches and because of this, he’s dropped his share of passes. Production is lower than you’d like to see, but came from a relatively weak passing offense at USF. Rounds off a lot of routes and has a lot of room for improvement as an overall route runner. A bit raw and could have used his senior season to further develop.

Analysis

Mitchell might end up being an absolute steal in this draft. A very talented and athletic receiver, he has the all the physical tools you look for in the position. Comes from a sports family where his father played basketball in Europe and his mother was the “cut-man” for boxer Antontio Tarver. Mitchell is a track start that is converting to the position, but already shows a lot of promise. Could be a very good receiver if he lands on the right team with the right coaching. Mitchell has a very high ceiling and has the work ethic, character and physical abilities to have a higher floor than many receivers in this draft.

Experience

18 career starts at USF.
