Strengths
A very rangy linebacker. Great athleticism. Gets very deep in his drops and is tremendous in pass coverage – on one play vs. USC he ran across the field with top WR prospect Damian Williams and broke up the pass. Very fluid hips and looks like he could play safety. Solid tackler and wraps up well.
Weaknesses
Very soft and is very bad at taking on lineman at the point of attack. Over commits on a lot of running plays and ran himself out of position to make a play. Questionable instincts. Doesn’t seem to have great balance and gets knocked over a lot. Not very versatile and will only be able to play in a 3-4 because of his lack of ability to take on lineman.
Analysis
He’s a great option for teams that like smaller, speedier linebackers the can drop into coverage. He isn’t great against the run and has trouble in traffic, but he’s so athletic and rangy that he’ll fit in somewhere and should be able to contribute on special teams too.
Experience
Two year starter for Washington.
