Strengths
A very good athlete. Excellent run defender and isn’t afraid to come up and fill the hole. Gets off of blocks well. A very technically sound and aggressive tackler. Good ball skills and and anticipation. Very cerebral player and knows when to take his chances. Is a fast twitch muscle athlete giving him the ability to react quickly to the ball in the air. Great in zone coverage. Special teams stand-out.
Weaknesses
Doesn’t have a lot of starting experience because he played behind good players like Tommy Zbikowski (3rd round pick in 2008). Doesn’t have great range. Timed speed/long speed is below average. Hips flexibility is only average. Man coverage is below par and covering Tight Ends in the NFL may be a problem.
Analysis
A mid round pick without a lot of experience but a good bit of upside. Will be under-drafted because of the depth of the 2010 safety class . Has starter potential, but will most likely only be a special teamer his first few years.
Experience
Two year starter at Notre Dame.
