Explanation of Player Grading System

Strengths

Very quick and athletic. Smooth backpedal and good footwork. Flips hips and changes directions easily. Can run with most wide receivers without allowing separation. When in zone coverage, can read the QB’s eyes while keeping an eye on the receivers. Confident and not afraid to jump on routes or take risks. Excellent height/weight combo for the position. Has abilities as a return man. Willing tackler.

Weaknesses

Very inconsistent. Disappeared in some games. Production dropped tremendously. Not physical and doesn’t use his hands as well as you’d like. Though he’s a willing tackler, he’s ineffective against larger ball carriers. Strength is a question mark. Has some character issues as he was involved in an academic fraud incident that got him suspended for three games in 2008. Was also suspended for the Music City Bowl in 2007 for an unknown reason.

Analysis

Robinson has a lot of potential to be a shut down corner at the next level, but he just hasn’t put it together yet. He’s a very athletic defender but the inconsistency of his game will drop him on draft day. Robinson isn’t a physical corner and has problems in press coverage and limited abilities to jam a receiver at the line. Could be a great fit for a team that already has quality veteran corners on the roster where Robinson could come in for nickel packages until he further develops.

Experience

Started 25 games at Florida State.
