Strengths
An extremely athletic and productive LB for the Georgia Bulldogs, Curran made a name for himself as a tackling machine. He is extremely fluid and quick to the ball. He has tremendous instincts and is always around the ball to make a big stop. Has good hips and gets into his drops quickly. He has good tackling technique and always wraps up the ball carrier. Has everything you look for athletically and from a leadership standpoint (Co-captain of defense).
Weaknesses
He’s extremely undersized, to the point that he almost looks like a defensive back. He isn’t great at fighting through trash or taking on lineman. His only position is LB in the 4-3, but there are questions as to whether that’s at the Will or Mike position. Isn’t a great blitzer but he does an ok job. Didn’t make many of game-changing plays.
Analysis
If it weren’t for his size, Curran would probably be an elite prospect. But, because he’s so undersized it drops him at least a full round. He will probably make some team very happy and if he can hold up, he can be a good starter for a long time.
Experience
Curran is a two year starter and started 5 games as a true freshman at Georgia.
