P.J. Williams vs Virginia (2014)

Williams has normal play speed for the corner position. He doesn’t have that perfect body control you look for in corners(tightness in hips). Needs to play with more toughness when helping on the run(tip toes around piles) Does a nice job of getting into the back field on the blitz and brings the QB down. Good hands for the interception. Plays with confidence on the field in press coverage, but on film he looks unsure on run plays. Not sure about his intense desire to compete. Student of the game who knows his assignments and stays in good position in the defensive scheme. A wrap up tackler who can be explosive when he wants to. Williams isn’t afraid to throw his body on ball carriers. He just needs to be more consistent at it and less hesitant. In press coverage a high percent of the time, so it’s hard to gauge if he is a calculated risk taker.
