Senior Bowl Blog: Friday

Walk through practices

Today was a very uneventful day at the Senior Bowl. Both teams were on the field for one hour each having walk through practices. Players didn’t even wear helmets in the walk-throughs and the tempo was very light and relaxed. Not sure why, but not even the media was allowed on the field after practices this morning, so no post practice interviews today.

I learned today that Missouri WR Danario Alexander is sitting out and may be missing the game with a hamstring injury. We didn’t see him at practice yesterday but were unable to find out why. **EDIT** I’ve heard that Alexander’s injury is a knee injury now and that he plans on playing in the game.

Tonight was “meet the players” night at the Mobile Convention Center and fans came out in full force to see their favorite players. In fact, the Senior Bowl staff stated that fans started lining up as early as 4:30 in the morning to see Tim Tebow. When we took a ride by the Convention Center at around 12:30 pm, the line was out the door already. With a heavy rain and a Mardi Gras parade (which was canceled), we didn’t risk heading back over there to see the final crowd.

Tonight I’ll be working on getting some of these interview transcripts up and we’ll be giving live Twitter updates from Ladd-Peebles Stadium tomorrow starting at around 12:00 CST.
