UNC QB Mitch Trubisky declares for 2017 NFL draft

Mitch Trubisky, the strong-armed quarterback of the North Carolina Tar Heels, made his NFL draft intentions known today when he tweeted that he was foregoing his final season of eligibility and turning pro.

Trubisky, who received a first-round grade from the NFL’s advisory board, will be an appealing prospect for the Cleveland Browns who hold the first pick in the draft.  Despite spending a third round pick on Cody Kessler last year, Trubisky has franchise-quarterback tools that will be difficult to pass on.

It’s highly unlikely that Trubisky will fall out of the top six, with the Browns, 49ers, Bears, Jaguars and Jets all in the market — potentially — for a quarterback this offseason.
