Drummond plays with better than normal speed at safety. He does display perfect body control on film(loose hips). He does show toughness when coming up to stop the run, will jump in on a pile. Drummond has good hands for the interception. He is confident of his ability on the field and it shows. Sometimes may be to confident, needs better discipline with his eyes on the play action pass. Also, he will allow receivers to get over the top of him and rely on his closing speed to make up ground from time to time. He needs to be more consistent staying over the top and closing the gap on receivers up the seam. Not sure if he has an intense desire to compete, but he was a team captain. He seems to be a student of the game, he shows on film that he understands his assignments, and knows the defensive scheme. Looks to be more of wrap up tackler. You don’t see an explosive hitter type. A calculated risk taker, Drummond needs to stay over the top on vertical routes, and be more risky on the horizontal breaking ones.
