WR Jeremy Maclin to Reunite with Reid in KC
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported on Sunday night that Pro Bowl wideout Jeremy Maclin is expected to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs after six years in Philadelphia.
DB’s Take: By now everyone knows the Chiefs are in desperate need of a receiver (last in the NFL in yards, receptions, and touchdowns by a WR). Maclin is coming off a season with career highs in all three of those categories.
The move makes sense. Kansas City wanted to alleviate themselves of Dwayne Bowe, who hasn’t shown improvement since 2011, and Maclin gets to play for the man who drafted him- Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. Still look for the Chiefs to go for a receiver in the first or second round. Maclin coupled with a reliable rookie like Jaelan Strong or Sammie Coates could make a dynamic addition to an offense powered by the run.
